01 / Why
Word shouldn't be the only place you can safely edit a .docx.
Most online "Word editors" mean uploading your document to someone else's server first. This one doesn't: parsing, editing, and saving all happen locally in your browser tab, so a contract, a draft, or anything else you're not ready to hand to a third party stays exactly that — yours, and only ever on your machine.
02 / Features
A real editor, not a viewer with a text box bolted on
A real formatting toolbar
Bold, italics, underline, links, bullet and numbered lists, inline images, and tables — formatted the way Word itself formats them, not approximated.
Version checkpoints
Save a checkpoint any time you edit, rename it something that means something ("Sent to client", not "v4"), and come back to any of them later.
Nothing leaves your browser
Your .docx is parsed and edited entirely client-side. It's never sent to a server — not for editing, not for autosave, not for anything.
Two downloads when you're done
A clean copy ready to send, and — if you started from an earlier version — a separate marked-up copy showing exactly what changed. Both are real .docx files.
Privacy, not a checkbox
Your draft never leaves your machine.
Opening, editing, and saving all happen locally in your browser tab. There's no server route that ever sees your document's contents — not for editing, not for autosave, not for anything.
- No upload, ever
- Nothing stored server-side
- Verifiable in your Network tab
Open a .docx and start editing — it's free.
No account needed to start.
03 / FAQ
Editor FAQ
Do I need Word installed to use this?
No. The editor runs entirely in your browser tab. You can open, edit, and save a .docx without Word, Google Docs, or any account.
Is my document uploaded anywhere?
No. Opening, editing, and saving all happen locally in your browser. Your file is never sent to a server.
What parts of a .docx are supported?
Paragraphs, bold/italic/underline, links, bullet and numbered lists, inline images, and tables. Documents with headers, footers, footnotes, comments, or existing tracked changes aren't supported yet — you'll get a clear message instead of a corrupted file.
Can I go back to an earlier version after I keep editing?
Yes. Every saved checkpoint stays available for the rest of your session, and you can compare any two of them — not just the two most recent — with the comparator.
